This tournament will be held on Sunday, September 6th. We are certain this will be a great
event for the players and spectators.
Event details:
The Tournament will be contested on four 6.5' Valley tables with Granito
Basalt Tournament Blue Cloth with Penguin Rails. Aramith Super Pro Balls with the Aramith
Pro Cup "Measles" Cue Ball will be used for all matches in this Race to 9 on the
'Undefeated Side' and a race to 7 on the 'One Loss Side'
Double Elimination event. It will be conducted under the "Alternate Break
Rule". The first break of each match will be determined by "The Lag". Our
"Final Match" will be a "TV" style finish of two sets, each a race to
5.
If the players split the sets there will be a "Sudden Death" game to decide
the winner. The player that breaks will be determined by "The Lag". The
"Final Match" will be played on the same tables with Aramith Super Pro Balls
with the Pro Cup "Measles" Cue Ball. Masters "Tournament Blue" will be the
only chalk allowed. Aramith Ball Cleaner will be used in between matches as
needed. One Rule has changed for this "Event", making the 9 Ball on the
break will NOT count as a win. The ball will be spotted and the breaking
player will continue to shoot, provided a foul was not committed on the
break. In the case a foul was committed on the break the incoming player
will have ball in hand. All matches will be played to their conclusion.
Entry Fee:
$100.00 per player. Plus a $10.00 "Green Fee"
This event will be limited to the first 16 paid entries. The deadline for
entry payment is 5:00 p.m., Saturday, September 5th. (Late payment will not be accepted and a player on the waiting list
will replace the player who has not paid the entry on or before the
deadline.) Your intent to play must be noted at least 7 days in advance of
the entry deadline to be considered for the Event! Players who wish to be placed on the "waiting list" are also
required to pay the entry prior to the deadline. If a player on the waiting
list does not receive entry in the "Woody's Open" their entry will be fully
refunded. Any player who discovers after paying their entry they are unable
to play and notifies us prior to the deadline will receive a full refund and
an alternate will take their place from the "waiting list" of players.
(First player on the waiting list.) If we are notified after the deadline
the player will forfeit the "Green Fee".
Dress Code:
Strictly Enforced !!!
Collared shirt. Shirts can be long or short sleeves. Slacks (no shorts),
Denim will be allowed. No caps or hats.
Sportsmanship:
Know the rules. We will play according to the internationally excepted rules
of pocket billiards. These can be found in any league book. NO SHARKING !!
Resolve disputes in an appropriate manor. Be on time for your matches.
Respect your opponent and the host's equipment.
Format:
We will complete a blind draw on Sunday, September 6th at 11:00 am and the
first match will start after the player's meeting (player's meeting starts
at 9:00 am). The first matches will start at 11:00 am. All other matches
will start when tables are available. Light snacks and soft drinks will be
available early. Food will be available for lunch. As usual soft drinks,
beer and wine will be available at noon. The payout based on a "Full Field" will be
$640 for 1st, $480 for 2nd, $320 for 3rd, and $160 for 4th. Without a "Full
Field" we will pay 50 - 30 - 20 as a percentage basis of the total
purse.
